Positive: My stay at the cottage within the historic Eastbridge Hospital in Canterbury was absolutely wonderful – in every way, it felt perfect. The property itself is truly unique: entering through the old Eastbridge Hospital, right in the heart of the city, you instantly step into another world. Once the heavy door closes behind you, the noise of the busy High Street fades away and you find yourself in peaceful, atmospheric surroundings full of history. The cottage, facing the river at the back, is incredibly quiet despite its central location – it feels like a hidden sanctuary. The apartment was spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated, and tastefully renovated, with the perfect balance between modern comfort and the charm of the historic building. Original beams and old stonework make the place feel truly special, while the furnishings and equipment are of high quality and provide everything one might need. A particular highlight of my stay was Julie, the concierge. From the very first moment she opened the old gate, she was warm, welcoming, and instantly made me feel at home. She took the time to explain everything, assured me I could reach out to her anytime, and each encounter with her around the property was a delight – she has such a kind and uplifting presence. Her support and the seamless communication made the whole experience even more enjoyable. In short, this is a rare and exceptional place to stay – full of history, beauty, peace, and comfort, right in the heart of Canterbury. I would return without hesitation and can recommend it wholeheartedly.
