Get a taste of pure, authentic Michigan! This charming 1950s cottage on Menonaqua Beach is across the street from a pristine private beach on Little Traverse Bay and just minutes from Harbor Springs. With 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms (two of which are freshly remodeled!), a large great room with vaulted ceiling and a fieldstone fireplace it's a wonderful place for a family or group of friends to get together, make memories and explore the beauty of northern Michigan and the great north woods.
The cottage is rustic, but beautifully furnished with antiques and original art. Two separate seating areas allow room for a large group to spread out with books, puzzles, games or bring everyone together for entertaining. The dining table seats 8. The kitchen is simple but efficient and well-equipped with new appliances and everything you need to make a great meal for a group. The front patio has a picnic table, Adirondack chairs and unencumbered bay views so you can count sailboats on the sparkling bay while you enjoy a morning coffee or an afternoon cocktail.
The cottage backs up to forest and a spring-fed trout stream where eagles, herons and other wildlife abound. In addition to the indoor fireplace, there is a private bonfire circle right on the beach and another fire pit in the backyard.
Enjoy one of the best private beaches and sunset views in all of Michigan with miles of gorgeous shoreline, clear water, access to Menonaqua Beach Club, Menonaqua inn and the beach pavilion. Kayak, swim, sail or motor boat all day and then go the inn for Wednesday Night Bingo or grill with your friends at the pavilion!
Downtown Harbor Springs is only 4 miles away and Petoskey only 5 miles--both have world-class dining and boutique shopping. Our cottage is also on a popular bicylcle route and there are recreation paths all the way into Pertoskey, so bring your bikes! Access M119 from Harbor Springs to drive the famous Tower of Trees along Lake Michigan. The possibilities for adventure and splendor here are endless!
