Squirrelville is a century-old cabin located at 5700 feet elevation in the beautiful Warner Mountains. It's fully furnished, with 110V power, a woodstove, queen bed, sofa bed, refrigerator, stereo, outdoor shower, outhouse, big country sink, microwave, 2 burner hotplate, BBQ, blender, coffee maker, and a hammock on private, fenced property in Ponderosa/Aspen forest. The wide open spaces of the Great Basin desert are close. Very few people, wilderness, many trails, hot springs, hang-gliding, fishing, Hart Mt. antelope refuge, wildlife viewing, bird watching, roller-blading in season (really!), Mt. biking, hiking, photography, snow mobiling, cross country skiing, and downhill skiing at Warner ski area 5 miles away. Summary: Cam and Christine are attentive and kind hosts. The property is (as described) rustic. The setting is almost idyllic. However, there are no south-facing windows in the cabin, and minimal lighting, so being indoors was gloomy. Outdoors, there was one comfortable seat: the sunset bench, located about 75 yards down the hill. The mattress was adequate, but not comfortable. The lack of running water was something we were able to cope with, but the outdoor shower situation was (despite the hosts' best efforts) horrid. Many folks (according to the guest book) have had lovely getaways here and are eager to return. We are not among them. We very much enjoyed our time together, but spent most of it out and about exploring the hiking in the area.
