2 Bedroom Cottage in Lorne
Our bush retreat is nestled in the forest, on the edge of the Great Otway National Park at 300m elevation, just 5 minutes drive from Lorne.
The house is the perfect getaway for one or two couples or families of three or four. Just pack your overnight bag, hiking boots and surfboards!
There are expansive forest and ocean views through the valley from the deck with Aireys Inlet lighthouse and the beaches beyond visible on a clear day.
Our space is a comfy and relaxing retreat for all seasons. We share the block with a dozen cottages, all self managed and 'Cora Lynn' cottage is self contained and for your private use.
Pamper yourself and get cozy by the wood fire, while watching the mist rolling in through the the valley, when it's chilly. Or spend a lazy afternoon on the deck, in the afternoon shade with a cool drink, when it's warm.
The house is freshly renovated and fitted out with all mod cons. The bathroom is modern and fully tiled and the kitchen is fully equipped including dishwasher and breakfast bar overlooking the valley to the ocean.
All professionally laundered bed linen and bath towels are provided and all the basics are there for self catering, including tea and coffee.
The house has ADSL2+ internet with wifi. For entertainment there's a smart TV with Netflix, Chromecast and game consoles (PS3 and Sega). There is a bluetooth speaker in the main bedroom. There are some board games and a small collection of books.
The lounge and bedrooms are comfortably furnished with a leather couch, armchair, and bean bag in the lounge.
The bed in the main bedroom is queen sized and there are 2 king single beds in the second bedroom that can be pushed together for couples.
There is a brand new split system AC for cooling and a wood heater for the colder months. Firewood, kindling and fire lighters are provided. There is a washing machine in the laundry and drying racks in the broom cupboard.
The deck has a gas BBQ and outdoor setting with sun umbrella.
Our place is close to other similar houses on 7 acres but is a free standing property, exclusively yours for the duration of your stay, and very private and quiet.
There is a shared picnic area with a Big Buddha that you can see from the deck that you are welcome to use. Although there's no walking circuit around the property, you are free to wander in your sturdy shoes.
Please note that there is no rubbish collection from the site so guests need to take their rubbish and recycling to the drop off point at the entrance to the transfer station (tip) which is on the left on the way into Lorne.
The site is a steep unfenced bush block with elevated deck, so whilst children are welcome we encourage close supervision.
