Old North End Mill is an 18th century mill building that has been fully converted to 21st century living standards. It stands in a quiet private lane with direct access to footpaths into the surrounding hills, and yet is only a few minutes walk from many of Wirksworth's local amenities and tourist attractions.
The cottage was redecorated, newly furnished and opened as a holiday cottage for Summer 2019. A small hallway leads to the dining kitchen with modern fitted kitchen with granite worktops, dishwasher, microwave and a table seating 4 people. On the other side of the hall is a comfortable living room with a large sofa, armchair and big cuddler chair for cosy nights in. For your entertainment there is a Smart TV, Blu-ray/DVD player, DAB/FM/CD/Bluetooth a selection of books, games, jigsaws, DVDs and CDs.
Upstairs the large Master Bedroom is designed for a blissful night's rest, with a 6ft Super King size solid Oak bed topped by a luxurious Hypnos mattress. Plenty of storage is provided in the triple wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside tables and dressing table.
The second bedroom can be made up as a King size bed or twin 2'6" beds, and has a built in wardrobe space.
The family bathroom has a bath with electric shower over and a toilet and basin. Full central heating throughout.
Travel Cot and Stair Gate available.
Outside there is a private patio courtyard area with table and chairs for 4. Additionally, in a town where parking can be hard to come by, it has one private parking space right outside, now with an EV charger. Extra visitor parking is usually available if you have more than one car. A bicycle locking point is provided in the courtyard patio area.

Wirksworth has some very steep hills, so you may be pleased to know that Old North End Mill is not located on one of them, meaning the 5-10 minute walk into town is quite a gentle one! Whether you tackle the hills or not, you'll find Wirksworth full of interesting things to do. It has many independent shops and great restaurants, cafes and pubs as well as the Heritage Centre, the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway, the National Stone Centre, the Star Disc and Stoney Wood, the High Peak Trail and Black Rocks.
The town is also very well located for driving to many other places of interest, such as Matlock Bath (Gullivers Kingdom, Heights of Abraham, Aquarium), Bakewell, Buxton, Chatsworth House, Alton Towers, Carsington Water, Haddon Hall and the glorious hills and walks of the Peak District National Park.
Although we do not accept pets, in case of allergies please note that the owners do bring their own cats to the cottage occasionally.
