The Tahoe Ski Chalet is located in Montgomery Estates, which is often considered the “best of
both worlds” when describing South Tahoe neighborhoods because it is centrally located within
five to fifteen minutes of all the fun Lake Tahoe has to offer, and yet it is located away from
traffic and tourist noise. It is located within the middle section of Pioneer Trail and
approximately four miles to the Heavenly Valley Ski Resort. Montgomery Estates is a popular
and highly sought-after neighborhood for local and second home residents as well as vacation
renters. Most of the South Lake Tahoe beaches, outdoor recreation, shopping, restaurants, and
entertainment venues are all within minutes of one's front door.
The Tahoe Ski Chalet is a lodge-style chalet which has three bedrooms, two baths, and sleeps
eight people maximum, including children. It has an over-sized great room that features a
vaulted ceiling with an antique Conestoga wagon wheel chandelier, a gorgeous used brick
electric fireplace insert, and an entertaining Foosball Table. Capture the outside views from the
large picture windows on each side of the fireplace plus the windows on the two side walls. It
has such open views that are wonderful when the snow is falling. After a long day on
the ski slopes, or shopping, sitting in front of the fireplace with a
glass of wine or a mug of hot chocolate cannot be beat! We have added a 50” flatscreen TV in
the great room and the three bedrooms now each have a king-sized beds and 32” flatscreen
TVs. There is a sleeper sofa in the great room for additional sleeping. Of course, the hot tub
just outside the door will help unwind those tense muscles.
Best of all, the house is less than a block away from national forest which is perfect for hiking
and biking in the summer and snow shoeing or cross-country skiing in the winter. For the
adventurous hiker, there is a fabulous view of Lake Tahoe from the top of the hill which makes
the hike worthwhile. On your way, there is a meandering stream complete with falls, where the
kids can enjoy water fun while the adults enjoy a picnic lunch. It is perfect for those educational
nature hikes.
After a long day of sporting activities or shopping, enjoy the soothing waters of the hot tub. The
large deck is perfect for relaxing while the steaks are on the barbecue. If you prefer to cook
inside, the kitchen is fully stocked with microwave, dishwasher, pots and pans, dishes, etc. All
you need to do is buy the food. Either way, you will enjoy the sounds of nature in this truly
peaceful setting and home.
