Serenity Lodge has clean spacious rooms with a rustic relaxing atmosphere. The living room and kitchen are in one Great Room, which encourages socializing. The fully furnished kitchen includes gas range, electric refrigerator, microwave, dish washer and large dining table. Spacious cupboards are furnished with a wide variety of dishes, utensils, pots and pans. Various spices and staples are kept on hand in case tenants forget and need an item. Kitchen linens, dish soap for hand and machine cleaning, plus various cleaning supplies.
The adjoining living room has a couch, a love seat and a Lazy Boy recliner. The fireplace is stocked with wood, and fireside cooking tools are provided for relaxing family fun. In the early morning watch through the large picture window as long legged birds hunt small fish or frogs in the shallow backwater behind the pond. Ducks and geese dive or dunk for food. Large Sand Hill Cranes look like slim men coming out of the underbrush for a drink at the pond. An occasional eagle will soar overhead.
The first downstairs bedroom contains a double bed, dresser, and 2 closets. The other downstairs bedroom houses a queen and a twin bed, chest of drawers, and closet. An upstairs loft holds a long double, a queen and a twin bed. The Lodge sleeps 7 comfortably.
A half bath is in the loft, with a full bath with shower/tub on the main floor. The first bedroom has a stacked washer and dryer tucked into one of the closets, accessible to tenants without extra cost.
The Lodge sits next to a small creek, supplying the music of running water from spring through mid-summer. A man made pond lies just beyond the creek, waiting for swimmers on a hot day. Inlet and outlet culverts direct creek water through the pond, allowing swimming through out the summer and early fall. We have a raft, boat, tire inner tube and other water toys.
Outdoors on the concrete porch, a gas grill and picnic table provide for outdoor cooking/eating. A campfire area is provided for cooking or just visiting by fire in the evening. Wood is supplied. Enjoy a beautiful sunset as the local frog chorus tunes up. These hearty singers provide an evening symphony from spring through mid-Summer.
We have electric lighting for the porch and campfire area if desired. On a clear night with the artificial lighting off, the moon and stars give a stellar presentation. Hikers can stretch their legs on old logging roads, or slow down the pace and explore animal trails. ORV enthusiasts have an extensive county road system to ride.
