Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: Period features, comfy beds and sofas, well equipped kitchen, complementary biscuits.. Reasonable price, and handy location.Good information and communication. The pub down the road with an excellent menu.

Negative: Unless you are very short (under 5ft) it is impossible to stand under the shower or sit comfortably on the toilet. The heating was noisy, especially in the bedrooms, and ineffective. The radiators were all covered and the one in the bathroom never got warm. The toaster fused the electrics. And the kitchen cupboards were not very clean inside. We had to rearrange the furniture in the lounge to be able to watch the fixed TV. The most difficult thing for us was the lack of parking. Although it was winter there were few places to park for free anywhere close to the cottage. We needed someone to stay to attend a loved ones funeral and it was fine for a few nights but we wouldn't have wanted to stay longer without being able to have decent showers and get warm.

Summary: Comfy and quirky but wouldn't go back
