Less than 2 miles from the property is Skerne Wetlands Nature Reserve, a nationally-important habitat and great for a family day out or for bird watchers. The thriving canal-side market town of Driffield (known locally as the capital of the Yorkshire Wolds) is also just 3 miles away, and the coastal resorts of Filey, Bridlington and Scarborough are all between a 30-50 minute drive. Filey is home to a large sweeping beach, and at the busier resorts of Scarborough and Bridlington, you’ll find working harbours and open top bus tours. There’s plenty of stately homes to visit including Castle Howard, Sledmere House, Burton Agnes Hall and Sewerby Hall. Finally, the historical city of York, with its famous minster, can be reached in just an hour. Beach 10 miles. Shop 4 miles, pub and restaurant 1 mile.
