Located on a quiet street, the apartment is situated on the first floor of a small block of three and is ideal for those wanting to be away from the main hustle and bustle. Marine Lake is a mere 5-minute walk and perfect for watching the world go by, or to even take a pedalo ride. A 15-minute walk down the main promenade and you’ll reach the traditional amusements, penny slot machines and carousels of this classic, seaside resort. Here you’ll also find Southport’s iron pier. Grade II listed, the pier stretches for around ½ mile, and a walk to the end will be rewarded with magnificent views across the North West, Blackpool and sometimes even the North Wales coast.
If you want to swap the coast for gardens then Kings Gardens stretch for 17 acres, and for foodies and browsers Southport’s famous Lord Street offers fabulous shopping and a mouth-watering array of restaurants. Southport has 22 miles of glorious coastline and can be the perfect place to relax and unwind. It starts at Crosby beach, which is around a 30-minute drive, and where you’ll find the art installation ’Another Place’ by Antony Gormley. The National Trust’s Formby beach is around 20 minutes and is truly beautiful. In the right weather it can even make you feel like you’re overseas! Back to Southport beach, and walks through the dunes are just fabulous.
Southport is popular with golfers, being home to seven championship courses (including Royal Birkdale) and holds an extensive events programme. This includes the British Musical Fireworks Championships, Southport Food and Drink Festival, Southport Air Show and Southport Flower Show. There really is something for everyone!
