The rural setting is an excellent base for exploring East Yorkshire’s magnificent coastline with its wealth of sandy beaches, RSPB bird reserves, and traditional seaside towns of Hornsea, Bridlington, Filey and Scarborough with activities for all ages. Within walking distance is Honey Suckle Farm a great day out for children offering delicious ice-cream and cart rides. Also, Wassand Hall a grand Regency House and walled garden (open on selected days) and Hornsea Mere (that has over 250 species of birds) a cafe and opportunities for sailing, fishing or feeding your leftover crusts to the ducks and swans.
Hornsea offers beaches, a promenade, a leisure complex, golf course, museum, skatepark and shops, pubs and restaurants; it’s also the end/start point of the Trans Pennine Trail.
