Positive: Valhalla Cottage Retreat, is a beautiful holiday home that doesn't disappoint! We stayed for 5 days/4nights 15th-19th July and we loved this cottage from the second we stepped in. It is decorated beautifully in every room, it's modern with a rustic look. Every detail has been thought about & you have everything you need throughout. The Kitchen has every utensil, plate, bowl, pot, pan, etc that you'll need if you fancy cooking. There is all the cooking appliances you need, hob, oven, microwave & Toaster & even a dishwasher to use if you don't fancy doing the dishes afterwards. If you choose to wash the dishes though, you do get to watch the cows, sheep, etc in the fields behind & see the beautiful views. The beds are comfortable & we slept really well, I don't usually sleep so well when I'm on holiday but this place has just a genuine feel at home vibe to it that it was so easy to relax here. There is a hot tub, rattan furniture & a double egg chair on the decking outside & after long days out exploring Northumberland, it was well received having all of this to go back to. My son & husband were in the hot tub every night & sitting outside is so peaceful, there are fields behind the cottage & it was nice to be away from the busy towns & roads. Our host, Ellen, was so helpful & kept checking in with us, we didn't need any help during our stay but I'm sure if we did, she would have been there to help us instantly. Ellen, had left us a welcome message, with a guide to the area, such as shops, recommended places to eat, things to do and it was really useful for us to have as we didn't know the area and this meant we didn't need to Google it. We were also left a lovely little hamper with treats in, which were from the local area, the shortbread & fudge were delicious. These little touches just topped off an already amazing place.
