Tyddyn Sydney Bach is a cosy cottage set in the secluded grounds of a larger cottage in the village of Treborth, just outside Bangor and very close to the Britannia bridge crossing to the Isle of Anglesey. A lovely retreat for two people, Tyddyn Sydney Bach has both beaches and mountains within a short driving distance, and is close to the Parc Faenol, the former Vaynol Estate, which dates back to Tudor times.
A garden studio cottage, it has an open plan lounge-kitchen-diner with vaulted ceiling and exposed beams from the original dwelling, it has a spacious bedroom with double bed and doors that open up onto the patio and garden area. There is a beautiful modern bathroom, with bath with shower overhead, washbasin and WC. The cottage is fully furnished and equipped to a high standard, with facilities that include a combi/microwave oven and gas hob (N.B. there is no full-size cooker), washer-drier, LCD TV, and DVD. There is WiFi broadband and garden furniture for outdoor use on the delightful patio.
Bed linen and towels are supplied.
Designed specifically for couples, the property is not suitable for children due to the large deep pond in the garden area.
Treborth is on the outskirts of the small but lively University City of Bangor with her restored Victorian Pier, Port Penrhyn and beautiful Cathedral where Deiniol founded his monastic community in 525 AD. Bangor is a coastal university City with unique character and landscape which boasts its own mountain and panoramic views of the sea. Bangor Mountain is home to the St. Deiniol Golf Course designed by James Braid, the famous golf architect and Open Champion.
There is also the newly opened Pontio, Bangor University’s Arts and Innovation Centre, which houses performing areas, a theatre and cinema with ‘Y Caban’ a modern art structure by renowned Dutch artist Joep Van Lieshout in its grounds. In the City itself there are nature and heritage trails linking the City’s green spaces with its rich-architectural heritage.
