Summary: Overall, the house was comfortable - actually only sleeps 3 adult couples. The single adults ended up on the couches. Some concerns: 1. Dangerous stairs: We were not informed that the stairs leading down from the deck were "under construction". 2x8 boards were laid on top of each step - but were not nailed down. My son fell the first night cutting and bruising his arm. 2. The deck is nice with a very nice new picnic table that would have accommodated our group - BUT - the deck is in direct sun almost all day thus making it extremely hot. With no umbrellas or any form of deck cover - we were never able to use the deck. 3. The propane tank was empty - we should be reimbursed . 4. Recommend that future guests bring their own towels. Despite the description, there are not enough beach towels provided for a large group. Some towels had been left in the washer and dryer but we didn't find them until the last day. 5. The walk to the river is long and winding over very uneven ground - difficult for the littlest guest, the pregnant guest, and the oldest guest just recovering from a knee injury. This should be defined better in the house description and pictures provided!! 6. In addition, there are not enough chairs. Hauling chairs back and forth was difficult for the makeup of our group. So we stayed by the house never using the firepit down near the water. 7. Basically we spent more time on the front porch facing trees since it offered shade but had to be very careful with the kids because there are several wasp nests on the front porch. I asked VRBO to discuss this before posting my comments but got no response. There has been no follow-up from the property manager or owner. And they were both contacted directly while we were on site. This property is way overpriced if you are looking for time "on the river" or a comfortable deck to hang out.
