Come enjoy this family-owned home! We’ve loved coming up to Black Lake for several years and now want others to be able to enjoy our home and amazing lake when we aren’t able too. This lovely and cozy home has 3 bedrooms and 1.5 bath to accommodate 9 guests. Updated kitchen, dining, and 2 seating areas for relaxation. The lake has a sandy bottom that is shallow for a distance. Outdoor dining is available on the deck with a grill and sitting area. Seating is also available round the bonfire pit on the beach. Home will have fresh linens, towels, and household starter kit (dishwasher pods, dish soap, garbage bags, paper towel, and hand soap) to start your stay. Laundry is available with a washer and dryer. We have a buoy available for your boat and 2 kayaks to explore this idyllic lake. Home has PTAC air conditioners for your summer comfort, and furnace for winter warmth or cozy up to our wood burning stove.

Dining – M211 Bar & Grill, Wood Winds Restaurant, The Bluffs, The Chateau at Black Mountain (Eagles Nest), Manzana’s, Knaebe’s Farm and Cider Mill (fall seasonal) are all local to Onaway and Black Lake. Tom’s Grocery store and Dollar General are in town.
Fun day trips – Cheboygan is 30 minutes, Indian River is 20 minutes, Mackinac City is 45 minutes and able to quickly get on a ferry to enjoy Mackinaw Island, Petosky is 45 minutes, and Harbor Springs is 1 hour. So many great adventures can be had in these quant Northern Michigan towns.
Activities – take a hike at the Ocqueoc Falls, golf at the UAW Black Lake Golf Course (5 minutes from house), explore the many trails for ORV or Snowmobiles in the winter. Or just stay on the lake to relax, swim and fish. Get your cameras ready each night to capture the most spectacular sunsets. We’ve been able to see Northern Lights on certain nights as well.
Travel Directions:
Take I-75 north to Exit 310 (Indian River/Petosky) then East on M-68 into Onaway. Turn left onto M-211 for 5 miles till dead ends at Onaway State Park turn right onto County Road 489 for about 2 miles then Sunset Dreams Home on the left.
