Summary: We were in the riverside lodge and although the lodge was lovely it lacked privacy as the hot tub and decking area was fully visible to people walking past from the nearby bridge, passersby could see right in to the accommodation. The lodge probably wasn’t worth the total amount of money we spent but it is a beautiful setting. The lodges are marketed as luxury, but we wouldn’t class the ‘level’ of luxury as commensurate to the price - the breakfast was pleasant but basic and the shower/toilet room was extremely cramped, once you have a shower the floor is soaked for the next 10 hours so your feet get wet every time you need to use the toilet. Added to this, it’s hard to feel it is good value for money when check-in is 4pm and check-out is 10am, with a charge for late checkout. The hot tub was excellent and the bed was extremely comfortable.
