Brodeg was built by our grandfather on the farm land on which our great grandfather was born. We have been holidaying here since we were young children and now are taking our children down too. We’ve travelled widely but nothing matches the natural beauty of Pembrokeshire: it’s a truly beautiful part of the world. Brodeg is a little quirky as the builder was an ex-prisoner of war who allegedly built Brodeg by candlelight. There are exposed beams in the lounge and bedrooms and not many true right angles!
It is situated in the rural hamlet of Bwlchygroes and lies just outside the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. It is surrounded by a good-sized, fully enclosed garden. With countryside views from most windows (most notably the lounge), it is the perfect place to unwind and relax whilst being close to multiple attractions.
There is a local village shop (run by our distant relations) 100 yards down the lane. The market town of Cardigan is 8 miles away with a range of shops, pubs and eating places. There are multiple good pubs and restaurants close by. There is excellent walking from the door (to a waterfall) and on the nearby Preseli Hills, Gwaun Valley and Pembrokeshire Coast Path. Activities for all interests and ages abound with horse riding, fishing on the River Teifi, golf, historic sites and castles, canoeing, sea kayaking, paddle boarding, boat trips, dolphin and puffin spotting, gardens, amusement parks, coasteering and not forgetting the world-famous Pembrokeshire sandy beaches all in easy reach.
Brodeg has a large (20 ft) living/dining room with beamed ceiling and open fire. There are two bedrooms (one double, one twin), a bathroom with shower, a fitted kitchen with dishwasher and a utility room with washing machine and freezer. Complete with TV, DVD player, radio/CD player and fibre broadband WiFi. Ample parking.
