Robins Roost is centrally located in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, our rustic but chic cabin is the perfect place to relax, or use as a home-base for your hiking & skiing adventures!
Newly updated, but still full of charm. Sit by the stone fireplace, play games, enjoy the beverage bar, gather at the fire ring, or watch the wildlife from the decks.
Our family sized cabin is only 2 miles from downtown Twain Harte. Just a short drive and you are at Columbia State Park, Pinecrest Lake, Dodge Ridge and Yosemite.
Located on a sloped hill, among several 150 foot tall pine trees, Robins Roost is a 3 story cabin with a detached 2 car garage, with a pay to use elective vehicle charger. On the entry level you will find the kitchen, dining area, main living room with a rustic stone fireplace, two bedrooms and a full bathroom. For your comfort, the cabin has two ductless mini-split AC units.
Guests can choose to sleep in "Camper Corner" which has two full sized beds or in "Peaceful Pine," which has a single queen bed. If you enjoy a unique space, you can sleep upstairs in "Lookout Gable." This open loft space contains a king size bed, sitting area, ceiling fan and it's own half bath.
Looking for a place to spread out? The "Bear Lair" is another living room, located on the bottom level. The Bear Lair is a great place to play a board game, watch television, or play PS4. The laundry area is located just off the Bear Lair as well as an additional bathroom with a shower and toilet.
You can grill outside on the main deck or walk down to relax by the fire ring.
Use the lower deck to watch the wildlife or stargaze surrounded by several 150 feet evergreen trees. During the late spring, summer, and early fall months, we have a tent in the yard that children can use as a home base, or even camp in overnight.
You will have full access to the entire cabin, garage, & property during your stay. We do have several locked attic/ stair closets where we keep personal items such as clothing and food for our own family. You will be charged for tampering with / breaking locks.
In the winter, snow shovels and an ice scraper are provided to assist with snow removal. We also have several sleds that guests can use. During the summer, we have beach/lake towels and a beach umbrella for guest to use.
We are located in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Please be aware that there can sometimes be smoke carried by wind from forest fires in other locations. Please monitor air quality conditions as your stay nears. Refunds for unused days will be given in the event of a mandated evacuation. (Which has never happened in our neighborhood to my knowledge.) In the winter, trees downed by snow and year round weather conditions can cause power outages. We do have a generator that will automatically turn on in case of a power failure. As a courtesy, we provide guests with four hours of generator service. After that time the generator will be turned off, or guests can choose to pay $10 per hour for propane to support their generator use. (The generator uses approximately two gallons of propane per hour.) The EV charger may not be used if the generator is on.
