Centrally located to the Cleveland National Forest, Heise State Park, and Cuyamaca State Park, the surrounding areas are picturesque mountainscapes. Local shops offer a variety of fascinating things, many being unique to Julian. Dining options include a variety of restaurants, cafes and pie shops. Local attractions include Smith's Train Ride, Gold Mine Tours (and museum), Hiking, Fishing and Picnicking at Cuyamaca Lake, Horseback Riding, and many more outdoor activities. Other fun options include awesome local bakeries, over 40 local wineries offering tasting experiences, amazing night-time stargazing tours (reservations needed), and The Wolf Preserve for the canidae and animal lovers!

Jess Martin Park offers barbecue pits, picnic tables, playground equipment, a skate-park, baseball fields, a paved loop walking path (3 laps=1 mile), and a great outdoor fitness center for daily workouts. Summary: My fiance and I spent 4 days with our 2 dogs in this beautiful cabin. The owner Andrès was such a wonderful host! He thought of everything from designer bedding to plush robes & slippers to a complete kitchen with every utensil imaginable. It was pretty chilly during our stay but inside the cabin it was so toasty warm that I barely needed the comforter at night. The spa bathtub was so nice after a long day. The 3rd day of our trip it was warm enough to use the jacuzzi surrounded by forest trees, which was a real treat! The cabin is only a 5 min walk to town, so it's impossible to not take several walks to burn off many slices of pie. Andrès is a fellow animal lover so we spent some time meeting his fur friends and had great conversations. We plan to make another trip to Julian soon to see him again. We truly had a wonderful, relaxing time and I will recommend renting this beautiful cabin to everyone I know. Thank you again for your amazing hospitality Andrès, you're the best!
