Rose Cottage, a traditional countryside cottage situated in Shirwell, just outside the North Devon town of Barnstaple. With plenty of period charm throughout, this dog friendly two storey self catering cottage comfortably sleeps 4 in two bedrooms set over both floors in a lovely rural location. The wilds of Exmoor and the North Devon coast are all within a short drive away, as well as a number of popular attractions including National Trust Arlington Court, Exmoor Zoo, RHS Rosemoor.
Inside the cottage, guests are initially greeted with a comfortable lounge area that features plenty of seating as well as a wall-mounted TV. Towards the right, there is a dining area with a high pine table and seating and lovely garden views, as well as a charming countryside kitchen. Appliances include an electric oven, gas hob, microwave, slimline dishwasher, fridge and a washing machine.
Back through the lounge, a few steps lead up into a ground floor bedroom. This ground floor double bedroom has a king sized double bed, and its own en-suite bathroom fitted with a bath and shower attachment, separate shower, wash basin and WC.
Upstairs, the first floor bedroom is a lovely bright room, with a beamed sloping ceiling, and a window seat provides a lovely spot to admire the far-reaching countryside views. This room can either be made up as a double bedroom with a super king-size bed or as a twin with two full-size single beds (due to handy zip and link beds). There is also a first floor family bathroom, a spacious room fitted with a shower, roll-top bath, wash basin and WC.
Outside, guests staying at Rose Cottage can relax in the private garden, where an outdoor picnic table and two deck chairs have thoughtfully been provided. Dogs are welcome, and there is an additional charge of £30 per dog per booking, and will be payable with your balance.
