A brand-newly furnished and refurbished 2 bedroom apartment, sleeping 4 people. Situated in West Looe, 200 yards from the picturesque quayside.
Comfortable Lounge with dining table for 4 people and optional sofa bed (free WiFi) leads via bay window french doors to a fantastic, large private terrace allowing alfresco dining with spectacular views out to sea, across to East Looe, the harbour and up river to the surrounding countryside.
Leading off the rear of the lounge is a newly fitted, fully equipped kitchen, including oven, hob, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster, kettle and full range of kitchen utensils, crockery and cutlery.
The main Bedroom has a double bed and 2 bedside cabinets, a full height cupboard with hanging space is just outside in the hallway, the smaller second bedroom has bunk beds and a chest of drawers.
There is no parking immediately outside the apartment, however, there is a temporary space for unloading/loading on arrival/departure, guests can then choose to either pay to park on West Looe Quay (200 yards away) or benefit from free parking further up the road on Marine Drive (a 5-10 minute walk). Part of the charm and character of Looe is that the majority of properties are built on the hillside, and although the apartment is ground floor, the access from the road is via a sloped pathway and a few steps, therefore, unfortunately, it is not suitable for wheelchair access or for those less mobile.
West Looe has 2 village shops (one with an ATM machine), 2 pubs (The Harbour Moon and The Jolly Sailor, the oldest pub in Looe), plus a few restaurants and cafes (the quaint Island View Cafe on Marine Drive offers lovely views of St Georges Island), plus a slightly more rugged and rocky beach, great for rockpooling at low tide. Some of the best fun can be had 'Crabbing' off the quayside on either West or East looe, most of the gift shops sell nets, buckets and bait.
East Looe, however, is where the majority of 'tourist attractions' are located, a beautiful sandy beach, pubs, restaurants, gift shops galore and a museum.
From the apartment, East Looe can be reached by a 10-15 minute walk across the bridge, or weather and tide permitting, and much more fun, via the 'taxi boats' for a small fee of 50p. The taxi boat operators also offer various boat trips up river, to Looe Island and 2 hour Mackerel Fishing trips (highly recommended, keep what you catch!), the larger boats offer deep sea fishing trips, and there are glass bottom boat trips around the bay, seals are commonly seen and more rarely dolphins have been spotted!
