Enjoy some R & R in this lovely home at the edge of the woods within a stone's throw of public access to beautiful Hamlin Lake. Downtown Ludington, excellent beaches, and the State Park are also close by.
Try your hand at the unique 18- hole disc golf course right on the property! For indoor recreation we have board games, puzzles, ping-pong and bumper pool.
Conveniently located within walking distance is Barnhart's Marina and Restaurant. A short drive will get you to Hamlin Grocery for take-out or delivery. Plan to see the sunset on Hamlin Lake or at any number of spots along the coast of Lake Michigan. Day trip possibilities are abundant, so be sure to check out an expanded view of the area.
This home has two levels with 3 bedrooms on the main floor, and 2 bedrooms on the lower walk-out level. The main floor master has a king bed and bathroom with shower. The other bathroom on the main floor hosts a tub/shower combo. One bedroom has extra-long twin bunks and a twin bed, while the third bedroom nests a queen bed. There is a spacious living room overlooking the backyard where deer frequently visit. The kitchen and dining area comfortably seat at least 13 people. A patio door leads out to the wrap-around deck with seating and a peaceful view of the woods.
On the lower level you will find the laundry facilities, along with a cozy seating area and game table, in addition to a game room with ping pong. The 2 bedrooms on the lower level include a king room and a room with a queen bed and heavy-duty extra-long twin bunk beds. The bathroom is roomy with 2 sinks and a shower.
The level opens up to a patio with seating, a fenced yard, wooden play structure, and sandbox. Just outside the yard is a fire pit. You will also find a fish cleaning station equipped with a hose, for after your trip on Hamlin Lake or Lake Michigan. A gas grill is also provided for outdoor cooking. There's plenty of space to park your own boat, with easy access to the boat ramp across the street. You'll have access to a tandem kayak, a single kayak and a canoe for a minimal fee of $100 for your whole stay. The boat launch is conveniently located at the end of the property, just across the street.
In the fall, beautiful colors are everywhere! We even have our own "tunnel of trees" that you drive through just before arriving. Biking, hiking, apple-picking, pumpkin patches, corn mazes and bonfires are a few of the seasonal activities you can choose from.
For our winter visitors, Hamlin Lake is popular for ice fishing and the State Park boasts groomed trails for cross-country skiing and other winter sports. There are plenty of other outdoor activities to enjoy, or you can just snuggle up inside with a good book, game, puzzle or your favorite television show or movie. Also, West Shore Community College offers swimming, a hot tub, gym, and a fitness center year round for a nominal daily, monthly, or yearly fees.
Spring is an exciting time of year for many people as the snow melts, the maple sap starts flowing, and the salmon swim upstream. Nature begins to wake up as the sun shines a little more. Although it's still a little chilly, late spring can be a favorite time of year for fisherman.
Summer time in Hamlin is one that you don't want to miss. You can enjoy Independence Day Fireworks by walking across the street on July 3rd at dusk. No waiting for traffic!
