Porth beach, which can be seen from the house, has a beachside pub serving local ales and good food, a small beach shop and a tapas bar. Newquay, a 15-minute walk, provides an abundance of attractions suitable for the whole family, including wide sandy beaches, restaurants, beachside cafés, a zoo, an aquarium, parks, sports centres, swimming pools, surf schools, sea fishing, go karting, horse riding and a links golf course. Newquay’s traditional working harbour has fishing trips and diving boats, providing the opportunity to take to the sea and catch some fish for the evening’s barbecue. Surrounding the town are many picturesque and secluded coastal villages, with quiet spots to get away from the crowds, including Crantock and Mawgan Porth.
