Wroxham, known as capital of the Norfolk Broads, is just 3 miles, a perfect base to explore the 125 miles of navigable waterways, daily boat hire, river trips, canoes and kayaks area available to hire. Good selection of shops, waterside cafés and restaurants. Wroxham Barns is just a few minutes’ drive with craft barns, boutique and shops, restaurants, play park and petting farm, which the younger children adore!
Excellent walking and cycling opportunities available from doorstep. Set amongst a gentle and tranquil landscape, dotted with ancient churches, wind pumps and nature reserves, the area offers a wealth of opportunity to enjoy the countryside at any pace. The traditional seaside resorts of Cromer, 15 miles and Sheringham, 20 miles, both offer wonderful beaches. Sea Palling is a quieter seaside village and offers sand dunes with excellent wide sandy beach. During the months of late October through to February you can enjoy visiting the seals at Horsey and Winterton on Sea where special viewing platforms are created to watch the new born seal pups.
Bygone museums, craft centres, National Trust parks and homes of Blickling and Felbrigg Halls are all within an easy drive. Norwich, 11 miles, has a magnificent cathedral, castle museum, art galleries, cinemas, theatre, cafés, fine restaurants and excellent shopping. Blakeney Quay and Morston Harbour located further along the north Norfolk coast offer seal watching boat trips and pubs and restaurants serving superb locally caught seafood. Fishing is available (in season with licence) Sea Palling, Cromer and Sheringham beaches are great for sea fishing and alongside the River Bure for river fishing. Many fishing lakes within surrounding area. Great golf courses are within an easy drive. Sheringham cliff top, Sprowston, Barnham Broom and Bawburgh will certainly delight any keen golfer.
