Sanctuary Cottage is situated in the heart of Shaldon just a few minutes’ walk from the beach. The property offers luxurious accommodation for six guests and has been beautifully decorated and refurbished in 2023 to a high standard throughout whilst retaining its historic charm. Shaldon is an attractive Regency village on the opposite bank to the historic seaside town of Teignmouth in South Devon, situated on the mouth of the Teign estuary.
As you enter the cottage, you will have the choice of relaxing in two separate living rooms, one with a wood burner and the other with a Freeview Smart TV. With two living spaces it is easy to relax and enjoy games with your friends/family or settle down to a good book in peace. The stylish kitchen/dining room feels bright, spacious and well-equipped with everything needed to prepare a home cooked meal. Head upstairs to discover the three beautifully furnished bedrooms; one of which has a standard double bed at the rear of the property and the other two each have a zip and link super king-size bed (which alternatively can be setup with twin beds if requested at the time of booking) and they both overlook the village green. One of the super king-size bedrooms has an ensuite shower room whereas the other two bedrooms share use of the elegant family bathroom which is fitted with a shower over the bath. You can enjoy your morning coffee on the front patio area and watch the activity on the green, which regularly hosts craft markets and other activities.
This holiday home is the perfect base for a family or a group of friends looking for a relaxing coastal holiday. When you are ready to escape the charm of this property, you will be spoilt for choice with breath-taking scenery to explore. The cottage is conveniently located just a few moment’s walk from a popular inn, and there are a variety of independent shops, tea rooms, pubs and restaurants located nearby. Shaldon also showcases a number of tourist attractions, including a small zoo, something your little ones will delight in, whilst you can explore the popular golf club and botanical gardens. Due to its coastal location, there are many opportunities for those interested in watersporting activities, such as fishing and sailing. The traditional seaside town of Teignmouth is just a short drive or ferry ride away and boasts many attractions for families, such as the pier with the usual amusements, beaches, play parks and many local restaurants. Dartmoor National Park is also within easy reach with its tors, historical sites and ancient woodlands to explore.
