The Space: This is a lovely 2 bedroom apartment in Paciano, on the border between Tuscany and Umbria. Paciano is widely considered to be one of the top 10 villages in Italy for its idyllic setting and quality of life. It is set over two floors and is situated within a beautiful restored farmhouse, dating back to the eighteenth century. This farmhouse has been split into five individual properties, all beautifully furnished to a high standard. Inside, the property is a clever fusion of both contemporary and traditional design. The result is a style of simple elegance. The owners have taken care to retain the original features of the farmhouse whilst bringing it up to the 21st century to meet modern holidaymakers needs. Guests enter the property into a lovely living area with adjacent dining and well equipped kitchen area. Moving upstairs, there is a bedroom with comfortable double bed along as well an additional bed cleverly arranged on a wide ledge area. There is also an adjacent twin bedroom and bathroom. The property has tiled floors throughout. Fans are also provided in all rooms. The property is surrounded by 2 hectares of land and guests enjoy use of a lovely eco infinity swimming pool (12 x 5 metres). The apartment is one of 5 apartments within the building but it has it's own private terrace with table and chairs, ideal for al fresco dining. Doors lead to the terrace from the living area. Please note that there is a 110 euro rental charge per week for heating during the Winter months when applicable. Guest Access: Guests have sole use of the entire apartment and their own private outside terrace area. The swimming pool is shared with the other apartments in the farmhouse. The Neighborhood: The setting is incredibly peaceful but is less than a kilometre to the beautiful village of Paciano where there are a selection of excellent restaurants, village shop, pharmacy, book store and post office. It is a charming village. It's also ideally located for exploring both Tuscany and Umbria. Less than an hours drive from the apartment, you can be in Assisi, Perugia, Siena, Deruta, Montalcino, Montepulciano, Orvieto, Pienza, Cortona, Montefalco or Chiusi, all well worth exploring during your stay. The latter is just a 15 minute drive away and from here, you can take a one hour train ride to the centre of both Rome and Florence. Trains leave each morning and return in the evening providing an extremely convenient and relaxing way to visit these major cities without having the stress of navigating each cities narrow streets and heavy traffic by car. You are also just 15 minutes from Lake Trasimeno, which has a whole host of lovely villages to visit, as well as beach areas and water sports for all members of the family to enjoy. Getting Around: A car is not essential as you can walk across the fields to the village centre however we would recommend that you rent one in order to make the most of your stay and to be able to enjoy some sightseeing. For those with a car, there is private parking behind secure entry gates. Other Things to Note: This really is a very special place to stay. You can't help but immediately feel relaxed and at home here. To be able to walk across the fields to the village centre is idyllic. We can highly recommend taking one of the cookery classes on site which are run by the owner and which always receive rave reviews from our guests. You will be shown how to prepare a typical Umbrian meal using the plentiful organic produce, fresh from the garden. Interaction with Guests: There is a local point of contact should our guests need anything during their stay, otherwise we leave our guests to enjoy this charming farmhouse in peace.
