Arklow Cottage can be found on a quiet side street just a few hundred yards from Scarborough Spa’s Cliff lift, which provides access down to the famous South Beach in the traditional Yorkshire seaside town of Scarborough.
This well presented cottage is ideal for a small family or group of friends to enjoy a seaside break. Step inside and delight in the large open plan living/dining room. Unwind on an evening on one of the two deep filled sofas which surround a wall mounted contemporary electric fire. Enjoy a Netflix movie or a fun board game, of which several are available to choose from. The dining table provides plenty of seating and is the perfect place to gather for a family breakfast or a delicious home cooked meal on an evening. The kitchen is bright and airy and provides plenty of worktop space. A door leads out to the enclosed courtyard which catches the afternoon sun. A well placed seating area provides a private spot to enjoy an early morning coffee or a glass or two of wine on an evening. Take the stairs to the first floor and find two bedrooms, one with two single beds which can be joined via a bed bridge to make a large kingsize bed, the second bedroom has both a double and single bed. Both rooms offer a relaxing ambiance with cosy soft furnishings and deep filled mattresses. The house bathroom completes the accommodation.
Step outside and within short walk, you will find putting green, Italian Gardens and Rose Gardens. A lift ride, will bring you down onto South Beach, one of Scarborough’s two beaches, the South beach provides rock pooling opportunities at low tide. For those who enjoy walking the Cleveland Way passes just yards away from the front door. Scarborough is overlooked by a magnificent medieval castle and offers something for everyone from an outside theatre, water park, amusements arcades, Sea Life Centre and a working harbour. For a quiet few hours take a walk in the Japanese themed Peaseholm Park; home to landscaped gardens and a pretty lake where you can hire a boat or canoe for a few hours.
The coastline to both the north and south of Scarborough offers miles of walking and cycling routes, and a little further inland is the stunning splendour of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. A visit to the North Yorkshire Moors Railway is a must and the historic city of York is under an hours drive away. Beach 500 yards.
