Addycombe Cottage was originally built for workers from Lord Armstrong’s Estate in the 1870’s, and the exact cottages can also be seen on the Cragside House Estate nearby.
Rothbury is a small historic market town with a village square and pretty riverside with something to offer for all age groups. Walking and cycling is popular here as the town is known as the capital of Coquetdale, surrounded by the Simonside Hills and on the edge of the National Park area. The stunning Cragside House is a wonderful National Trust property with stunning gardens and well worth a day out. The energetic may like to walk, but there is ample parking should you wish to drive. Once you are parked you can walk around the town easily, take a stroll down the river or cross over the stepping stones.

Kielder is one of the largest man made lakes and has some stunning scenery.
