You will be spoilt for choice of quiet country walks in the area, and your four legged friend is welcome too.
The peace and tranquility of Rig Cottage is second to none yet it is only 6 miles from Thornhill, a thriving market town with some lovely niche shops, fabulous restaurants and coffee shops. Take a short drive to the stunning Drumlanrig Castle and Gardens where you can enjoy a guided tour or a leisurely stroll round the gardens. For the more energetic, four of the 7Stanes mountain bike trails are on your doorstep. Less than an hour’s drive away will take you to the stunning Solway Coast where you can explore the many beautiful beaches and cliff top walks, then enjoy well earned refreshments on the waterside pubs and tea rooms.
