Bury Meadow Lodge is a fabulous 18th century detached three-bedroom property showcasing distinctive period Grade II features, with beautiful views and direct access to Bury Meadow Park, 10-minute walk to Exeter Cathedral and other historical buildings in the centre of Exeter. The lodge, a grade II listed building, dates back to the 1845 and is built in the Tudor Gothic style, it has retained several attractive character features including a stone-pointed arched doorway, cast iron fireplace and wooden floors.
Head into the kitchen, which is fully equipped with an electric oven, induction hob, slimline dishwasher, microwave, washer/dryer and an integrated fridge. This then leads into the dining room which has a table and chairs, a sofa and a Smart TV. The living room is ideal for relaxing in after a busy day exploring the local area, so sit back on the comfortable seating and enjoy the warm glows of the open fireplace. The enclosed courtyard garden with outdoor seating is a great spot for enjoying your morning coffee in the sun or for a spot of al fresco dining. Discover the two comfortably furnished bedrooms on the first floor; a kingsize bed with views of the park in the main bedroom and the second room has a zip and link super kingsize bed which can be set up with twin beds if requested. The lodge is located in Bury Meadow Park with its own history to explore, it caters for toddlers and has outdoor gym facilities, the park offers easy access to the picturesque city centre, ingrained in medieval Roman remains, a collection of cafés and restaurants and the usual city chain departments. The University campus is a short walk away and guided tours around the cathedral and underground passages, visit the Royal Albert Memorial Museum and Art Gallery, with city bus tours and of course the castle. The Lodge is 300 metres from Exeter Central train station, a 5-minute walk to Exeter St David’s station, 2.8 miles from the A30, 3.8 miles from the M5 motorway. Furthermore, the accommodation also provides an ideal base for visiting the pretty beaches of Exmouth, Dawlish, and the historic estuary town of Topsham where the nature walk and cycle path passes through alongside the Exe Estuary. The award-winning Darts Farm, home of local West Country food and drink, the cream tea’s (scones with clotted cream and jam) shouldn’t be missed! Hire a mountain bike at Haldon Forest, where there are cycle trails for all abilities, dog walks and adventure playgrounds, or kayak along the canal at Exeter Quay.
