While set in a rural setting, the house benefits from being only 500 yards to the nearest pub situated next to Silver Meadows Wetlands Nature Reserve. Built in 1895 by the Stonemasons, the property has large windows and high ceilings, to make sure you see the most of the Lake District even while cuddled up on the sofa.
Hawthorne House is ideally located between the popular tourist town of Keswick, which is only 8 miles away, and 5 miles away is the charming market town of Cockermouth - the birthplace of William Wordsworth and the oldest town in Cumbria. Nearby are Whinlatter Visitor Centre and Dodd Wood where you can visit the Ospreys Viewpoint. The Lakes Distillery is 1 mile away; a pleasant walk along Bassenthwaite Lake.
