Summary: This is a lovely one bedroom apartment within an exclusive development of just three properties, within walking distance of the walled medieval village of Paciano. It has a wonderfully restored and well equipped interior and enjoys use of a shared infinity pool. The Space: Inside, the apartment has been lovingly restored, with the owners clearly taking their time to return the property to its original beauty, with wood beamed ceilings, handmade terracotta tile flooring and working fireplaces. The owners have also gone to great lengths to ensure guests have use of all the mod cons you could want with SKY TV, CD player and WIFI internet access. The property is also fully air conditioned and, for those staying in the winter, it has underfloor heating and a lovely fireplace as a central feature in the living room. A hairdryer is provided as are toiletries on arrival. The apartment is a good sized property with an open plan living and dining area which leads through to the kitchen. The kitchen has plenty of work space and is equipped with everything you could possibly need during your stay. There is also a lovely modern bathroom and double bedroom. Please note that there is a heating charges of 100 euros per week when applicable during the Winter months. Guest Access: Guests have the sole use of the entire apartment during their stay. There is a communal laundry room for the use of all guests. Guests enjoy the use of a fantastic infinity pool (14 x 5 metres). The Neighborhood: The apartment is located within walking distance of the walled village of Paciano, a perfectly restored 13th century medieval village. Outside, the apartment is surrounded by olive groves with stunning views of the Tuscan and Umbrian countryside. The village has several excellent restaurants, a village store, some cafes / bars as well as a superb bakery which opens twice a week. Getting Around: A car is not necessary as you can walk into the village but if you want to enjoy some sightseeing during your stay, a car is recommended. Other Things to Note: This property is one of a dozen villas and apartments that we have in Paciano. We have selected so many properties here as we think it's a great village. There are a good selection of restaurants to try and a holiday here is very much an opportunity to enjoy an authentic stay in Umbria. We love the fact that the owners of the apartment take such great care of all our guests too. You'll receive an incredibly warm Italian welcome and they'll be on hand to help you with anything you may need during your stay. Interaction with Guests: Guests staying at the property receive a very personal level of care and attention from the owners who live nearby. The owners will be more than happy to show guests around the old wine cellar at their farmhouse. The cellar contains more than 2000 bottles of carefully chosen wines and champagnes. Wine tastings can be arranged in the cellar. Alternatively, guided tours of wineries in Tuscany and Umbria can also be organised. They can also provide an olive oil tasting session with a variety of olive oils, including their own organic extra virgin olive oil, which will help you to better understand the different flavour characteristics and how these are compatible to different foods. In addition, the owner also runs cookery lessons, showing guests how to prepare a typical Umbrian meal using their organic produce, fresh from the garden. This really is a very special place to stay.
