The town itself has a growing foodie scene with restaurants and bistros offering all kinds of cuisine through to tea rooms and award-winning fish and chip shops. There are plenty of traditional pubs around the town with live music and ales, as well as independent shops offering Jet stone jewellery, as well as other locally made items unique to this area. You are only a five-minute walk away from the Spa Pavilion which hosts most music events. Head inland on foot, car, bus or even by steam train to explore the beauty of the North York Moors National Park. There is plenty on offer such as National Heritage buildings and waterfalls, or head out to sea in search of whales and dolphins.
